Volkswagen Group IT Solutions establishes hybrid work model
A further step in the implementation of future-oriented working models has been taken. Around 800 employees of Volkswagen Group IT Solutions GmbH have benefited from the introduction of a Germany-wide hybrid work model since April 1, 2022.
The working world of the future requires new approaches. In particular, the past two years have shown that employees also perform their work without restriction outside the premises of Volkswagen Group IT Solutions.
For this reason, the management around CEO Dr. Stephan Fingerling and CFO Dirk Birke, in prior consultation with the works council, has decided to continue mobile work and hybrid working methods for the entire workforce. On the one hand, the decision to establish a hybrid work model for Volkswagen Group IT Solutions increases employees' job satisfaction by enabling them to take on more personal responsibility and make their profession more flexible in combination with their individual lifestyle. On the other hand, the competitiveness of Volkswagen Group IT Solutions in the IT services sector will be strengthened and the transparency of a modern corporate culture will be promoted.
Antje Herrmann, Head of HR, Legal, Compliance & Communications, is very pleased about this important step: "The agreement reached between the management and the works council lays the first foundation stone for a permanent, flexible working model at Volkswagen Group IT Solutions. In the coming months, further measures will follow with which we will implement hybrid working."
Work is already underway on the conversion of the space in order to create modern meeting areas for employees where the teams can meet for creative work and networking in the future. In addition to the possibility of permanent workstations, there will also be the option of independently booking workstations in the office buildings of Volkswagen Group IT Solutions using software specially developed in the company. Another added value for recruiting is the free choice of workplace for potential employees, who can work from anywhere in Germany. In addition to the individual CO2 savings in terms of the commutes to the office, this allows more diverse teams to come together. In order to facilitate the transition from the home office to the hybrid work model for managers and their employees, internal seminars are being developed. The hybrid work model focuses in particular on training series for managers in order to be able to support them in the long term in continuing to successfully accompany their teams towards a digital world of work.
