This was the first VWGIS Welcome Day 2023
A warm welcome for new VWGIS colleagues
Giving new employees the opportunity to exchange ideas as well as relevant information on how to get started - that is the concept of the VWGIS Welcome Day! The event for the first half of 2023 took place on Thursday. A total of 50 participants travelled to the Braunschweig site for the event.
The programme for the day was colourful and varied. It started at 12 o'clock with a small lunch buffet, where all participants could first strengthen themselves and get to know each other better. Afterwards, the new VWGISers were welcomed by CEO Dr Stephan Fingerling and CFO Dirk Birke with personal words. This was followed by an introduction of the works council.
At 2 pm, Antje Herrmann (Head of HR, Legal, Compliance & Communication) and Dirk Schäfer (Business Unit Manager) continued. They spoke in a panel discussion about the culture and DND of VWGIS.
Following on from these topics, Antje Herrmann gave further insights into HR and personnel development. She was accompanied by colleague Laura, who works for the Communication & Marketing team and is in charge of internal communication. She introduced the VWGIS intranet to the new faces.
This was followed by further rounds of introductions: For the Finance team, Çağla was on site to present the tasks of the department and to point out contact opportunities. Jan Minck (Head of Digitalisation & Governance) and colleague Katrin were digitally connected to provide information on the topics of locations, space management and occupational safety. The last part was dedicated to Anna, who presented the knowledge platform "WeShareKnowledge".
At around 3:30 p.m., the presentations came to an end and there was time for everyone to continue exchanging ideas and clarifying open questions. In the end, everyone agreed that coming together in Braunschweig and getting to know each other live and in colour was a great idea!
